The series:

OJardim

The OJardim series was created using a fictional storyteller that Daniel Malva imagined. The images have names which refer toarche types created by humanity to tell our story. The series has 25 images of human body parts dried or in formaldehyde solution. They were photographed at a collection of anatomy from São Paulo. This work was exhibited in São Paulo in 2015 and the works are in the process of being acquired by the City Museum of São Paulo.

The technique

Analogue photography

The OJardim series was made using a large-format camera (5×7 inches) and medium format (6×7 cm) and a fifth lens built by Daniel Malva. This lens uses the glass’s elements at a better quality compared to other lenses that Malva has built. The result is the ability to show more details of the human anatomy in his pieces.
